This month’s feature highlights a rhinoceros horn, possibly from Africa or Asia, dating from the late 19th century to the early 20th century. It was part of the collection of the Industrial and Commercial School of Angra do Heroísmo and is now stored at the Science and Technology Collection – Naturalia of the Museum of Angra do Heroísmo. Today, it stands not only as a testimony to a historical period of discovery of the natural world, but also as an expression of a contemporary debate about the conservation of the planet and biodiversity.
