As part of the celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of Azorean Autonomy and the preparations for the 600th anniversary of the Discovery of the Azores, in partnership with the Regional Secretariat for Parliamentary Affairs and Communities, the MAH is hosting a conversation with Aprígio Ramalho, one of the historic ‘Captains of April’, whose actions had a decisive impact on the Portuguese revolutionary process. In this session, the guest will share his perspective on the events that led to the 1976 Constitution, reflecting on how he experienced, first-hand, the early years of Azorean Autonomy, both on Terceira Island and across the rest of the archipelago. During the event, there will also be an opportunity to revisit 25 April, as well as to learn about key episodes in his professional career and the journey that made him a key figure in contemporary Portuguese history. The conversation will be led, as usual, by José Luís Neto.
