“Memory Exercises” is the result of work developed by Luís Pinheiro Brum, focusing on the materiality of paper.
An enduring passion of the artist, who collected paper for years and now presents a new perspective on books and paper.
In total, there are 20 sculptures on display in the Dacosta Gallery until 29 March
Graduated in landscape architecture, after a few years working in his field, in 2011 Luís Pinheiro Brum, a native of Biscoitos, Terceira Island, devoted himself to urban art, followed by graphic arts.

The Angra do Heroísmo Museum presents itself as an open space for all cultural and artistic expressions, such as video art.
Jerónimo Emiliano de Andrade Secondary School is celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of the opening of its current building. In this regard, a series of commemorative activities are being prepared, which will take place throughout the academic year, in collaboration with the Angra do Heroísmo Museum, as it was the first location where the High School operated.
Opened at the end of May, this exhibition has, according to Jorge Bruno, been well received by the public, particularly by the young people attending the art workshops organised by the educational service of the Angra do Heroísmo Museum.
According to the catalogue, this is an exhibition where the predominance of mixed techniques and the use of less noble materials can be understood as a consequence of the artist’s admiration for Antoni Tàpies and Louise Nevelson, with the influence of the Azorean painter José Nuno da Câmara Pereira also recognised in the experimental nature of the works on display.
