Its handwritten label reads:<\/p>&#13;\n<p data-start=\"314\" data-end=\"552\"><em data-start=\"314\" data-end=\"550\">Powder used in the Campaigns of Liberty 1826\u20131834<br data-start=\"364\" data-end=\"367\"\/>Powder offered by Major Sebasti\u00e3o Teixeira Carrascosa who, holding the rank of 2nd ensign, landed on the beaches of Mindelo on 8 July 1832, celebrating his 18th birthday on that day.<\/em><\/p>&#13;\n<p data-start=\"554\" data-end=\"840\">Sebasti\u00e3o Teixeira Carrascosa was one of the men from Terceira who joined the Liberal Army and, in the context of the Civil War, departed from Terceira Island in June 1832, landing near Mindelo at Pampelido Beach, an action that was decisive for the capitulation of D.
