This includes a beautiful silver real of 10 soldos from King Fernando I and a superb dobra from King Jo\u00e3o V. The collection was meticulously put together according to criteria that reflect more than a numismatic a perspective, but that a historian, who valued the coin above all as a testimony to an era, a political situation or a cultural context, and who was therefore not interested in singularities in the dies or unusual dates.<br\/>He is linked to Terceira Island by genealogical ties. He has also established affective ties with Angra do Hero\u00edsmo, having frequented it since 1959. However, it is primarily the cosmopolitan tradition of this city, which for at least three centuries has been visited by ships from India and the Far East, Brazil, the African coast and Spanish America, that justifies this magnificent gift of inestimable cultural value to the Museum Angra do Hero\u00edsmo. <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped
