The monthly feature highlights a decorative piece made from a sea turtle shell, originating from Africa and dating from the period of Portuguese rule, between 1935 and 1975. It reaches the present day as a memento of a historical period for both Portuguese and African communities, but also as a representation of a discontinued craft, reflecting concerns for the conservation of the planet and its biodiversity.
Donated in 2022 by Rui Andrade, it is part of the Collection of Decorative and Ornamental Arts.
