Dacosta Gallery
Scenery and Travel through Portuguese Arte, Arquipélago Collection
Dacosta Gallery, 14 May to 11 September Exhibition opening, 18h00
Open Access
This travelling exhibition, produced by Arquipélago| Contemporary Art Centre, explores the affinities that connect different Contemporary Art objects. It searches for a well circumscribed sense, which identifies and gives the collection coherence. At the same time, it associates itself to the identity of the Azorean Archipelago. Thus, the pieces selected present the work of several national artists, with landscape and travel as the main thread that invite discourse.
Exactly nine works were selected, as the different identities and particularities were taken into consideration. These different scales, singularities and accents, may represent contemporary Portuguese art, but also demonstrate the different ways of experiencing and thinking about Art. The exhibit’s narrative unites the pieces under a set of contact points.
