The Art world has always been a place of innovation and creativity. From the time of the first cave paintings to the latest digital art, artists have been trying to find new ways to express themselves, while testing the limits of what is possible. In recent years, this world has been rocked by the emergence of blockchain technology and the rise of non-fungible tokens (NFTs). For Luís Geraldes, this shift would come to be a long journey. He created a series of 250 physical paintings, after which the artist began the process of transforming them into NFTs over several years. A complex and time-consuming procedure, where each painting had to be carefully photographed and digitised. In turn, the NFTs had to be created and verified on the blockchain.
The artist’s paintings, once limited to the physical world, are now accessible to anyone with an internet connection. They can be bought and sold on the blockchain and, more importantly, can be enjoyed by a new generation of art lovers who are eager to explore the possibilities of blockchain technology.
