Em nome do Espirito Santo – Photography by António Araújo

This work was the result of a challenge themed around “Communities” set by the Instituto Açoriano de Cultura to photographer and designer António Araújo. With it begins a cycle about the community for the community. The author focussed on the communion spirit that surrounds the cult of the Divine Holy Spirit. António Araújo accompanied Diogo’s coronation for a week, and so was able to portray all the stages of this festivity: the changing of the crown, the praying of the rosary, the preparations for the feast, the procession and the função, and ends once again with the changing of the crown.
