Concorde Meal Service MUSEUM OUTDOORS

This month’s feature highlights a meal service from the supersonic Concorde aircraft, similar to the one used during the visit of French President Georges Pompidou to Terceira Island, as part of the Nixon-Pompidou Atlantic Summit in December 1971. The set, with pieces marked with the Air France monogram, includes wine and water glasses, cups and saucers, individual salt and pepper shakers, cutlery, metal bowls, and various porcelain items.

The pieces were donated to the MAH by Robert Donat, Director of the Air France Representation in Portugal, on May 11, 1972, and are part of its Decorative and Ornamental Arts Management Unit.
