São Francisco Building Capítulo Gallery

The richness and diversity of the MAH’s collection in the field of radio communications, resulting in part from two important donations made in recent years, one by Victor Jorge Pamplona Ramos (1937) and the other by the heirs of João Fernando Goulart Bettencourt Pereira Porto (1928-2012), has made it possible to present this exhibition, which features a representative selection of the evolution of radio communications, with an emphasis on amateur radio and a specific aspect of communications on Terceira Island during the Cold War. This exhibition is therefore a tribute to all professionals and amateurs who are dedicated to radio communications, with special reference to Victor Ramos and João Porto, for the professionalism and dedication with which they carried out this activity throughout their lives.
