The exhibition Bichos by Javier Torrent, on display at Carmina – Dimas Simas Lopes Contemporary Art Gallery, focuses on macro photography of insects, aiming to capture and record minute details of these small invertebrates that are imperceptible to the naked eye.
Following a guided visit to the exhibition, children will be inspired by the various and exuberant physical and behavioural traits of the insects depicted. They will participate in a practical two-part exercise: first creating an illustration of an insect or an imaginary creature never seen before, and then translating these characteristics into the creation of a toy using a wooden spatula.
