MAH AUDITORIUM

The MAH is hosting a dance workshop organized by Shivana Eventos as part of its Traditional Dances of the World series, which aims to promote circle, partner, and line dances from all corners of the globe. An evening of fun and sharing through introductory traditional dances, ensuring that everyone—even those who consider themselves to have “two left feet”—can experience the magic and joy of this expressive art form. Joana Loura, a native of Santa Maria Island, was the president of Os Amigos da Maia Association, the organization behind the Maia Folk Festival, which ignited her passion for traditional dance from its very first edition. She is currently a bailadora in the Folkloric Group of Casa do Povo de Santo Espírito and an enthusiastic learner of balfolk. 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM | Traditional Dances of the World Workshop with Joana Loura 8:00 PM – 9:00 PM | Light meal served on-site + social gathering 9:00 PM – 10:30 PM | Traditional Dances of the World Ball with Joana Loura
