Conferences at Boa Nova Communication from João Pinto Coelho, Master in Cultural Tourism Product Development, Technical Coordinator of the Tourism Laboratory at the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar Military tourism has taken on unquestionable relevance and greater prominence in various national public and private forums and agendas. However, there is still a lack of knowledge about the concept itself, particularly regarding its presence in the national tourism strategy and the possibilities and limitations of its operation in Portugal. The presentation ‘The National Charter for Military Tourism: From Concept to Operation’ aims to report on the study/project itself and its results, scientifically coordinated by the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar, and to show the history of Military Tourism, from its origins to the present day, in line with the activities of the Portuguese Military Tourism Association.
