Museum of Angra do Heroísmo
The Museum of Angra do Heroísmo is celebrating Museum Night | 2017 by marking the 90th anniversary of the “Documentário Terceirense” by António Luís Lourenço da Costa, which is considered the first known film made in Angra do Heroísmo, and presenting a fashion collection by Sílvia Teixeira, the result of a Creative Residency organised by the Crafts and Design Center of the Azores, which is made up of pieces that incorporate lace from the islands of Pico and Faial and are inspired by the glamour of the 30s.
Past and present, music and fashion will intersect on this festive evening, during which we will recreate some of the pictures illustrating city life at the beginning of the 20th century. These were collected by the man who was its first “film-maker”, in a valuable document whose original film belongs to the collection of the Museum of Angra do Heroísmo, which has reissued it in digital format.
