Auditorium of the São Francisco Building
The tenth session of Shortcutz Angra highlights two short films by José Vieira Mendes, a filmmaker, journalist, programmer, and film critic: Os Amores do Paiva (2022) and Sábado (2022). There will also be space for the animated film O Peculiar Crime do Estranho Sr. Jacinto (2019) by Bruno Caetano, who also produced the Portuguese short film nominated for the Oscars, Ice Merchants. In 2023, with the presentation of the first session of Shortcutz Angra do Heroísmo, the historic island city joined the Azores into the international Shortcutz circuit. The sessions, which include bar service, take place every month at the Museum of Angra do Heroísmo, where at least three short films are screened. There is also an opportunity to meet professionals from the audiovisual industry and attend presentations of emerging projects during a block dedicated to film pitch.
