Starting with the definition of collecting, the speaker goes on to review armoury collections and, more particularly, oriental weapons which belong to museums and private individuals, including his own, which is particularly important in documenting the cultural symbiosis resulting from the Discoveries, due to its bladed weapons linked to the Portuguese expansion to the East.
