By exploring this educational case, you will learn about the techniques and materials traditionally used to prepare paints up until the Industrial Revolution. Old procedures that made use of basic and harmless products such as earthy materials and ashes were revived. This highlights an alternative to the conventional manufacture of paints, which reduces the use of polluting and toxic materials and is therefore less environmentally aggressive, as long as the raw materials are sustainably obtained.
