Mad Work

On 4, 11, 18 and 25 November, from 14:30 to 17:30, at the Educational Service of the Museum of Angra do Heroísmo, the MAH, in partnership with CADA – the Azores Centre for Handicrafts and Design, will host a Mad Work and Patchwork workshop led by the artisan Mercês Sampaio.

During four sessions, participants will be introduced to the techniques of Mad Work and Patchwork, learning their functions and how to apply them in everyday life. Each participant will create an individual panel to be applied to wooden trays. In addition to exploring hand-sewing techniques, the workshop aims to highlight the cultural and artisanal importance of this craft.
