The table has always been a place of civility. Eating and consuming food are acts that go beyond the immediate realm of subsistence and enter the area of sociability and, as such, also of feasting and showmanship. In this workshop, which was organised in partnership with the Professional School of Praia da Vitória, we recall the splendour of the ceremonial tables of the 17th and 18th centuries, brought on by the pieces of tableware on display in the exhibition By the Sea and the Land… a history in the Atlantic. During this workshop we will improve our etiquette and protocol skills which, by dignifying the acts of setting and being at the table, transform the meal into a celebration and a party.
