On 15 April at 14:00, the Educational Service of the Museum of Angra do Heroísmo will host a workshop dedicated to the creation of a graphic journal using the Japanese binding technique, an ancient form of handcrafted bookbinding that is both simple and adaptable to a wide range of materials.
Under the guidance of Carolina Rocha, this activity offers a brief introduction to the world of manual bookbinding, while encouraging the development of creativity and aesthetic sensitivity, as well as providing participants with tools for individual project creation. By the end of the session, each participant will have produced their own fully bound graphic book or sketchbook, made entirely by hand through the use of the instruments and techniques presented.
The workshop is aimed at ten children aged between 9 and 13 years. Participation is free of charge, subject to prior registration via telephone on 295 240 800 or by email at [email protected]
