This activity includes visits to various areas of the São Francisco Building and the Church of Nossa Senhora da Guia, showcasing the eclectic tile heritage of the Museum of Angra do Heroísmo, which comprises a wide variety of types and styles. Along the way, the origin of the term azulejo will be discussed, as well as the main functions that this ceramic covering has performed over time — narrative, decorative and hygienic — in different architectural contexts.
