In this session, simple cake recipes will be demonstrated, enhanced with spices to create a rich and sophisticated flavour. While the cakes are baking, there will be time to visit the permanent exhibition Do Mar e da Terra… uma história no Atlântico and reflect on the important role that the demand for and appreciation of spices played in the overseas expeditions of the sixteenth century.
