Lawrence (Peter O’Toole) is a British soldier who, in 1916, in the middle of the First World War, is charged by his country’s government with an almost impossible mission: to unify the Arab tribes living in the area that is now known as Saudi Arabia, leading them to fight the Turkish army. Lawrence manages to make himself respected by the Arab leaders and almost becomes one of them. Lawrence of Arabia is an epic film based on T. E. Lawrence’s autobiography entitled “The Seven Pillars of Wisdom”. It was one of the greatest successes, both for audiences and critics, of British filmmaker David Lean, author of “The Bridge on the River Kwai” and “Ryan’s Daughter”. In 1963, the Hollywood Academy nominated him for ten Oscars, of which he won seven: best film, director, cinematography, original soundtrack, sound, editing and sets.
The catering will be by Twins on Fire.
