Promotion of the exhibition The Temptation of Saint Anthony in the work of António Dacosta Hell and temptation have always fascinated poets and artists, who have given us terrifying visions of them. Some argue, however, that hell is not in the afterlife, but on Earth, lodged in the minds of each of us, sometimes ravaged by creatures no less frightening and fearsome than those that inhabited the underworld. Hell is still experienced by the victims of natural disasters or injustice and intolerance. The fantastic creatures, composed of parts of different animals’ bodies, which illuminated medieval codices are still very much present in our imagination. In this workshop, cardboard and card templates are used, which are then painted and decorated with feathers and fabrics to create some of these multiform and colourful beasts. Target audience: Pre-school and 1st Cycle.
