The Museum of Angra do Heroísmo, in joint organization with the Regional Directorate of Forest Resources, the Municipality of Angra do Heroísmo, and in collaboration with the Garrison Regiment No. 1, presents a new edition of Batteries by Moonlight at the Monte Brasil Recreational Forest Reserve. This event is part of the program to promote and conserve the artillery pieces of the museum displayed at this location. The event, with free admission, begins at 6:00 PM with two guided tours (at 6:00 PM and 6:45 PM) departing from the Guard House of Garrison Regiment No. 1, led by senior MAH technicians João Lemos and Joana Freitas, under the theme The Fortress of São João Baptista | Stories of Exile. With a panoramic view over the city of Angra do Heroísmo, visitors can also enjoy a Sunset DJ Session by Unlok & Araújo at Pico das Cruzinhas, starting at 6:00 PM and lasting until sunset. At 8:00 PM, there will be a brief presentation by MAH senior technician Jaime Regalado about the defensive complex of Terceira Island during World War II, held at Pico das Cruzinhas, where the anti-aircraft batteries will be available for detailed observation. At 8:30 PM, the theatre company Cães do Mar will present Encruzilhados, a microperformance choreographed by Romulus Neagu. The evening will culminate with a concert by the musical project João da Ilha Trio at Pico das Cruzinhas, starting at 10:00 PM. The program also includes the option to enjoy a night picnic, where visitors can bring their own picnic basket or use the available dining service in the park, provided by O Capote, along with a bar service by Palpita Talento.
