Educational Service of the Museum of Angra do Heroísmo, 1 December, 14:00–17:00
The tradition of Advent calendars dates back to the 19th century and is a delightful family custom. Opening a numbered window reveals an image related to the season on the card that forms the calendar’s base, to which a small gift—usually a chocolate—was later added, creating a daily moment of anticipation for the festive Christmas atmosphere.
In this workshop, we invite you to come to the MAH to revive this tradition and create, preferably with your family, a contemporary Advent calendar using envelopes, boxes, tins, and other containers, to be filled with poems, drawings, toys, and other sweet treats.
Target audience: 10 young people aged 12 and over, and adults who may be accompanied by children, working with them in a mentoring capacity.
