INAUGURATION 75 YEARS 75 DONATIONS
It was, above all, donations that, over the course of 75 years, enabled the Angra do Heroísmo Museum to enrich its collection and, at the same time, to strengthen its ties with the community(ies), becoming a guarantor of memories and, consequently, of stories. Through the diversity of 75 pieces, all donated, the aim is to evoke environments, spaces and experiences – some more distant, others much closer – and to pay tribute to all those involved.
COMMEMORATIVE ACTIVITIES
March marks the start of the Angra do Heroísmo Museum’s 75th anniversary celebrations with the launch of a series of activities marking the date of the official creation of the Angra do Heroísmo Museum, on March 30, 1949. The opening of the 75 Years – 75 Donations exhibition, complemented by the launch of a commemorative postcard, stamp and seal, in collaboration with the Terceira Island Philatelic Center and the Association of Friends of the Angra do Heroísmo Museum, as well as the inauguration of a portrait gallery of the institution’s former directors, will officially open the celebrations.
