These masks are offered or acquired in exchange for exchange in wedding rituals, funerals, Carnival or the emancipation of young people, but never bought. The African masks presented in this exhibition are part of the private collection of Pedro Lima, who took advantage of his professional experience as a football coach to put together pieces that illustrate his contact with countless communities in different African countries such as Burkina Faso, Mali, Benin, Niger, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Rwanda, Congo, Ethiopia, Namibia, Kenya, Tanzania, Madagascar, Togo, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, South Africa, Zambia, Swaziland, Malawi, Lesotho, Senegal and Gambia.
