New Bedford Whaling Museum

New Bedford Whaling Museum, 7 January to September
Oásis by Nuno Sá | Wildlife Photography is made up of 24 large-format underwater photographs that reveal the splendour, bizarreness and beauty of the many creatures that inhabit the immensity of the Azorean sea and make it an unusual oasis that few people have the opportunity to glimpse.
On display in our Capítulo Gallery and at the Forum Terceira from June to October 2014, this exhibition was deposited at the Museum of Angra do Heroísmo, which ensured its presentation at the New Bedford Whaling Museum, reaffirming the link between two communities that are protagonists of whaling history, since many Azoreans were part of the crews of the American factory ships that travelled to the Azores in the 18th and 19th centuries.
