Olhares Sobre a Fábrica D’Alcântara

Between 1885 and 1924, one of the few Portuguese factories that produced fine faience during this period operated in Alcântara, Lisbon. They initially followed British decorative taste. However, from the beginning of the 20th century onwards, they adopted the decorative styles of the great European porcelain factories, especially the French.
The exhibition Olhares sobre a Fábrica d’Alcântara from the Jaime Ferreira Regalado collection is on display at Sala Dacosta until 4 March 2023. It showcases a range of ceramic objects from this same Lisbon factory, which are representative of its production and decorative transformations.
