Olhares Sobre a Fábrica D’Alcântara

Between 1885 and 1924, one of the few Portuguese factories that produced fine faience during this period operated in Alcântara, Lisbon. It initially followed British decorative taste. However, from the beginning of the 20th century on, it adopted the decorative styles of the great European porcelain factories, especially the French.
The exhibition Olhares sobre a Fábrica d’Alcântara showcases a range of ceramic objects from this same Lisbon factory. These are representative of its production and decorative transformations. It is part of the Jaime Ferreira Regalado collection, and is on show at the Dacosta Gallery until 4 March 2023.
