Military tourism has taken on an unquestionable relevance and greater notoriety in different national public and private forums and agendas. However, there is still a lack of knowledge about the concept itself, namely its presence in the national tourism strategy and the possibilities and limits of its operation in Portugal.
The presentation of “A Carta Nacional do Turismo Militar: Do Conceito à Operação” (The National Charter for Military Tourism: From Concept to Operation) aims to report on the study/project itself and its results, which was scientifically coordinated by the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar, and to show the path of Military Tourism, from its genesis to the present day, in a way that fits in with the activity of the Associação de Turismo Militar Português.
