The Museum of Angra do Heroísmo, in partnership with RTP/Açores – with programme coordination by Eduarda Mendes a cinematography and editing by Paulo Pereira – presents the television mini-series Museu Oculto (Hidden Museum), comprising six weekly episodes, which reveals a less visible dimension of its day-to-day museum work. Throughout the series, viewers are introduced to the work carried out by the institution’s professionals, exploring the museum’s behind-the scenes areas – storage, reserves and archives, workshops, offices, studio, inventory room and vault – where, away from public view, the activity underpins exhibitions takes shape. Between safeguarded collections and the exhibition design process, a “hidden museum” emerges, inviting audiences to discover what usually remains unseen.
