The MAH presents the rabbit test board, which was used in pregnancy tests based on the method developed by Maurice Friedman and Maxwell Lapham (c. 1930), which involved the use of rabbits. These tests were carried out by Dr Henrique Henriques Flores (1907–1985) in his clinical analysis laboratory, where he began practising in 1932. In 2016, the laboratory’s collection, including this specimen, was donated to the MAH by his son, Dr José Henrique Simões Flores (1936–2025). This piece forms part of the Museum’s Science and Technology Collection and will be presented by João Lemos, Senior Technician at the MAH, followed by a guided tour of the collection.
