On the day marking his birth, and as part promotion of the Re.Function Poject installation, created by Paulo Ávila Sousa, the MAH pays tribute to the artist from Santa Maria, José Nuno da Câmara Pereira, born on 1 April 1937, with a discussion dedicated to his life, career, and the lasting impact of his work. The discussion, featuring Francisco Pedroso Lima and Pedro Cota, and moderated by Jorge A. Paulus Bruno, aims to provide a moment of reflection and exchange on the artist’s relevance within the Azorean cultural context. The session begins with a screening of the documentary Um criador nas suas Ilhas (2006), directed by Marcus Robbin and produced by the Azoreans Institute of Culture, offering an intimate glimpse into José Nuno’s creative universe.
