The Tomorrow that Never Comes

This exhibition presents a collection of works by João Amado in his first exhibition on Terceira Island. It focuses on the uncertainty or lack of clarity about the future. This uncertainty is conveyed by a translucent layer over the piece’s landscape, which is composed of various scenarios and dialogues, in a surreal or fantastical language.
The works are made using essentially analogue collage and painting techniques, where he masters the application of materials such as paper, wax, wood and paint.
