Cloth Doll Workshop

The maias are straw dolls crowned with flowers, in which the female figure embodies the vigour and fertility of nature.
Dating back to Classical Antiquity, the celebration of Spring takes various forms across Europe, converging in the popular maios, which in our region mark the arrival of the month of May. This workshop will evoke this ancestral tradition and prepare for the arrival of May, teaching participants how to make small cloth dolls—maias to wear on the chest.
Target audience: children aged 7 and over, young people and adults
