In the exhibition Neblina do Tempo, visitors are invited to embark on a journey across continents, cultures, and eras, where the landscapes and imagined figures of Carlos Mota emerge as fragments of a collective memory, revealed through multiple historical layers. Using mineral pigments from Ouro Preto, imbued with the marks of time and territory, his works create a connection between Brazil and Portugal, spanning the Atlantic and leaving traces in the mist that shrouds the past. Within this mist lie the Azorean islands, points of passage and connection between worlds, insular fragments rich in tradition, employed as metaphors for human movement.
