During the guided visit to the exhibition From the Azores to Southern Brazil, displayed at Carmina | Dimas Simas Lopes Contemporary Art Gallery, we will explore the photographic work of three artists – Milton Ostetto, Orlando Azevedo, and Tadeu Vilani. Focusing on the culture and traditions of the Azorean community in Southern Brazil, we will appreciate the confluence of simplicity and delicacy, transporting ourselves into a magical dimension through black-and-white photography.
The practical workshop centres on the creation of a photographic mural, aiming to stimulate children’s critical thinking and develop their visual literacy and non-verbal communication skills. Participants will use cutting and collage techniques to integrate a group photograph into a composition, enhancing it to create a cohesive landscape.
Target Audience: the activity can be adapted according to the participants’ age group.
