The Grémio Atlântico – Civic, Cultural and Solidarity Association continues its cycle of conferences, Echoes of the Atlantic, in the last semester of this year, this time focusing on the theme of the new world order. The session will take place at the Military History Centre, in collaboration with the MAH. The guest speaker for this edition is Major-General João Vieira Borges, who holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Military Sciences (Artillery) from the Military Academy, a master’s degree in Strategy from the Higher Institute of Social and Political Sciences (1999) and a PhD in Political Science from the University of the Azores. The Major General is also qualified with the General Staff Course (Institute of Higher Military Studies – IAEM), National Defence Course, Terrorism and Security Studies Course by George C. Marshall European Centre for Security Studies, the General Officer Promotion Course, and is the director of the ‘Crises and Armed Conflicts’ Credit Unit of the Doctorate in Military Sciences at the IUM (Military University Institute).
