The workshop ‘Materialising the Landscape’, which takes place as part of the exhibition Places of Landscape: Risks, Stains and Memories, on display at Carmina – Dimas Simas Lopes Contemporary Art Gallery, invites participants to explore ways of representing nature through the manipulation of organic and unconventional materials, promoting a sensory connection with objects. This workshop aims to create textured, three-dimensional compositions using paper or cardboard that translate imagined or observed natural landscapes, providing participants with the opportunity to work with raw materials, using natural techniques and elements such as sand, charcoal, dry leaves, small twigs, earth and natural pigments. The compositions will be constructed using glues, frottage techniques, printing, collage, scraping and texturing.
