The Cabinet of Curiosities for December highlights a religious image invoking Our Lady of Alimpação, an archaic regional variant of Our Lady of Purification, from a private home in the parish of Fontinhas.

This sculpture, donated in 2024, is unique in the collection of the Museum of Angra do Heroísmo. It arrived accompanied by several silver ornaments, among which the resplendence of the head of the Baby Jesus stands out and, above all, the crown of the Virgin, which resembles a crown of the Holy Spirit — which gives the piece a particular local character, suggesting that it is an amateur local production.
