Rogério Silva | Do Amor da Pátria à Memória

In a partnership with the Museu da Horta,we are celebrating the multifaceted Rogério Silva (1929-2006) in an exhibition that presents an anthology of his artistic work.
He was born in Horta in Faial Island in 1929. It was in Angra do Heroísmo that Rogério Silva became a visual artist and one of the most important figures of the 20th century. Later, he would reveal his strong cubist influence, in which there is a predominance of parallel and straight lines, but also a Surrealist approach, after a stay of almost twenty years in New England in the United States, where he always despised the crass commercialisation of his art.
