This exhibition, developed in partnership with the Angra do Heroísmo Public Library and Archive, aims to characterise the Terceira press and show through it some aspects of political, social and cultural life in the period of the First Republic. This exhibition is based on thematic panels which, along with an insight into the local press of the time, share an account of the hot button issues of the First Republic. Topics such as religion, education, economic development, sport, the role of women in society and consumer habits are covered, allowing us to characterise the political, social and cultural life of this period.
