Dacosta Gallery
Dacosta Gallery, 19 Mar. to 13 Jun.
The exhibit includes a set of 3 from a series of 5 paintings by António Dacosta inspired by the Isenheim Altarpiece depicting the temptations of Saint Anthony, which captivated Dacosta’s attention due to its grotesque exuberance. The whereabouts of two of the paintings are unknown, so photographic reproductions will be presented. The Isenheim Altarpiece was painted by Grünewald in the 16th century and is part of the Unterlinden museum’s collection of ancient art.
