Where the future and the past meet

The Museum of Angra do Heroísmo is an encyclopedic museum. It seeks to reflect not only the history with its political, social and economic facts and movements, which were marked by the dominance of the Atlantic, and the culture in its multiple forms and meanings generated and shaped by an insular existence Indeed, its strategic location and history place the Azores in a global political context and, within this, Terceira Island and the city of Angra with their centralities.
